It started way back in 1996 and now, twenty years later, the Original Long Beach Lobster Festival is still going strong. This unique gatheringis taking place Friday, September 9 (5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), Saturday, September 10 (noon to 11:00 p.m.), and Sunday, September 11, 2016(noon to 10:00 p.m.) at the Rainbow Lagoon in Long Beach, CA, 25 miles from Anaheim.
First off, there’s the fabulous food that will be served in the equally fabulous food court. Naturally, lobster will be the main attraction. But if shellfish is not your thing, there will be plenty of other items to please your palate. You’ll also have access to beach bars galore to wet your whistle and a dance floor to shake your booty. There are even activities for the kids, such as carnival games, face painting, arts & crafts booths, and bouncy houses.
This year’s festivities will also feature lively live entertainment. The Original Long Beach Lobster Festival line-up will include top-notch band sand performers. Last year’s event saw a very talented group of singers and bands grace the stage. There was Flashback Heart Attack, an international touring band that covers all the big hits of the 1980s. Lazy Brad Lewis did not disappoint with its classic country tunes, including cuts from their latest release “All My Friends Are Bartenders.” And RemJ rocked the joint with his spookily spot-on impression of Michael Jackson.
